The event was Doodlepalooza 2026, held at Cowabunga Canyon water park and organized by Doodle Rescue USA, a Las Vegas nonprofit. Every slide in the park stayed closed for the day — the wave pool, splash pad, and shallow kiddie areas belonged entirely to doodles and poodle mixes and the families who drove or flew in with them.

A Guinness adjudicator stood on site counting the whole time.

The final tally, 296 dogs, beat the previous record of 276 by exactly 20 — a mark set just four months earlier by Chewy at a pool party in Coral Gables, Florida. We Love Doodles, this event’s sponsor, was officially named the new record holder.

Getting one wet doodle to hold still is a full afternoon’s project. Getting 296 of them into the same body of water long enough for an official adjudicator to count each one, without the tally turning into chaos, is the actual achievement here — the swimming was the easy part.

Tickets ran $60 a dog, and every dollar went toward Doodle Rescue USA’s actual work: vet care, grooming, fostering, transport, and adoptions for doodles and poodle mixes across the Las Vegas valley. “Achieving this record gives us a chance to celebrate something historic while also drawing attention to the rescue work happening every day behind the scenes,” said Sheedvash Michael Zargari of Doodle Rescue USA. Fellow organizer Danielle Dunker put it more simply: “This record belongs to every dog and person who showed up for a larger purpose.”

The record itself will likely move again — that’s what these things do. What doesn’t reset is the number of dogs who got adopted, fostered, or vet-checked because 296 families spent a Sunday getting soaked for a good reason.
