Tonya Hatcher and her family live in the Fountain area of Panama City, Florida. This past June, they went on vacation. Their usual cat sitter wasn’t free, so they found a new one through Facebook.

When they got home, their cat Tiny Tim was gone.

Months went by. Meanwhile, Bay County Animal Control had picked up a cat in a dumpster near a landfill, about 50 minutes from the Hatchers’ house. How he got there is still a mystery. Nobody has said, and we aren’t going to guess.

The shelter did what shelters do. It put him on NewsChannel 7’s “Shelter Spotlight” segment, hoping someone would want him. Someone did. Hatcher’s sister was watching and saw him.

Hatcher didn’t even need the video. “I didn’t even see the clip, I just saw the picture and I knew,” she told the station. “I knew it was him, so I started crying.”

She called the shelter just before closing time. Then she described the one thing no other cat could fake.

“He’s got a distinct little bump on his side,” Hatcher said. “He’s had it since he was a baby.” Staff checked. It matched. The family took him home.

Buster’s take: Please remember this the next time you hire a stranger from Facebook to hold the keys to your whole life. Lucky’s take: Never mind all that. He was found! A bump is a very good thing to have, and Tiny Tim has the best one in Florida.
